Every spring, for 38 years now, BJM DANSE MONTRÉAL has brought together over five hundred community leaders – from the worlds of politics, commerce and the arts – for its prestigious benefit gala.
Presided by Honorary Chairman Mr. Andrew T. Molson, this year’s event, entitled «Gogo Dancing», is a tribute to the Swinging Sixties!
All around the world, the Sixties were marked by unprecedented change. Rebellion, protest, alternative ways of life, putting into question traditional family values and radical political events have all become synonymous with this legendary decade. BJM’s 38th Annual Benefit Gala is dedicated to this lively and exciting period of history.
Remaining faithful to its tradition of presenting, during this annual event, extracts of new ballets in their Montreal premiere, BJM will show Zip Zap Zoom by young choreographer Annabelle Lopez Ochoa. In this work, inspired by virtual reality, the choreographer brings her dancers into the universe of online games… Fifty years separate an era where the world seemed like a blank canvas to an era full of mind-boggling possibilities!
When: May 15, 2010
Where: Honor Hall of Montreal's University
