
Philanthropy, Partnerships and Communications Manager
Job Summary
Reporting to the Executive and Artistic Director, the Philanthropy, Partnerships and Communications Lead plays a key role in the visibility and long-term sustainability of Ballets Jazz Montréal. By building lasting relationships with donors and financial partners, and by orchestrating coherent, inspiring and engaging communications, they strengthen the company’s visibility, impact, and vitality. This versatile position combines philanthropic development, strategic partnerships, and overall communications management in support of an artistic mission driven by excellence, curiosity, and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
1. Partnerships and Philanthropy Development

Work closely with the Executive and Artistic Director, the fundraising committee, and the Board of Directors to design and implement a comprehensive diversified funding strategy (individual giving, patronage, sponsorships, fundraising campaigns, etc.)

Identify and solicit corporate partners, foundations, and donors

Build sustainable partnerships aligned with the company’s artistic mission and values

Write partnership proposals, recognition programs, and impact/activity reports

Organize and oversee fundraising and recognition events

Manage the department’s allocated budget
2. Communications

Develop and implement an integrated communication strategy (traditional, digital, and social media) to promote the company’s programming, activities, and philanthropic initiatives

Create and manage communication tools and content (press releases, newsletters, articles, visuals, etc.) to reflect the company’s mission, activities, and values

Maintain a strong and consistent social media presence

Manage media relations and coordinate interviews, features, and press kits

Ensure brand consistency in tone, style, and visual identity across all communication channels

Provide an outstanding public experience during company events and activities (reception, public relations, on-site brand presence)

Analyze digital data and use performance indicators (KPIs) to optimize communication campaigns, partnerships, and adjust strategies

Manage the department’s allocated budget
3. Coordination and Collaboration

Work closely with the Executive and Artistic Director to highlight the mission and programming in communications and partnership activities

Collaborate with presenting venues to maximize the impact of promotional campaigns

Coordinate with external agencies and collaborators involved in fundraising and communication initiatives

Contribute to the preparation of grant applications
Required Education and Experience
-
University degree in communications, philanthropy, or a related field
-
Minimum of two years of experience in a similar position
-
Experience in event organization and management
-
Experience in fundraising
Desired Skills and Qualities
-
Excellent written and oral communication skills, in both French and English
-
Strong writing and presentation development skills

Solid negotiation and strategic relationship-building skills

Project management experience, including budget planning

Proficiency with digital tools related to fundraising and partnerships (online forms, donation platforms, virtual or hybrid events)

In-depth knowledge of digital environments: social media, Google Analytics, SEO/SEM, ticketing, content distribution, CRM, email campaigns, etc.

Comfortable using Microsoft Office and Google Workspace (an asset)

Knowledge of the cultural and artistic sector (an asset)

Strong ability to work collaboratively, with leadership, initiative, and team spirit

Ability to work effectively in an open workspace

Salary: $55,000 to $75,000, depending on experience
