AUSIA JONES (she/her)

Originally from Dallas, Texas, Ausia Jones received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance with a specialization in Choreography from the USC Glorya Kaufman School of Dance. While at USC Kaufman, Ausia trained at Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Orsolina Forsythe/Pite and Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival.

As a dancer, she has had the honor of performing works by William Forsythe, Robert Battle, Cayetano Soto, Aszure Barton and Jiri Kylian, among others.

She has choreographed at Booker T. Washington HSPV in Dallas, TX, USC Kaufman Choreography in Los Angeles, CA and New York Live Arts in New York, NY.

Among her many accomplishments, Ms. Jones has received the Orion Choreographic Fellowship, the Toulmin Creator Grant, the White Bird Celebrating Black Women in Dance panel, YoungArts Honorable Mention in Choreography and Modern Dance, and the 2020 USC Deans Scholarship (academic award for one term of tuition).


As she continues to cultivate her passion, Ausia hopes to share her knowledge and love of dance in ways that inspire and educate the next generation of young artists. She joined Ballets Jazz Montréal in 2020.
