Biography
Born in Nîmes, France, Jérémy Galdeano is a dancer, choreographer, and teacher. He graduated from the École Nationale de Danse de Marseille. He began his career as an apprentice with the Ballet National de Marseille, under the direction of Marie-Claude Pietragalla, before joining Les Grands Ballets Canadiens in 2001, then directed by Gradimir Pankov, and later by Ivan Cavallari. He spent nineteen years there, rising to the rank of principal dancer.
His extensive performing career has led him to dance a vast repertoire by major choreographers such as Mats Ek, Jiří Kylián, Ohad Naharin, Didy Veldman, Christian Spuck, Jean-Christophe Maillot, Shen Wei, Stephan Thoss, Nacho Duato, Stijn Celis, Annabelle Lopez Ochoa, Garrett Smith, Edward Clug, and Étienne Béchard, among others.
Alongside his dance career, Jérémy Galdeano develops his own choreographic work and creates several pieces presented in the choreographic workshops of Les Grands Ballets Canadiens, in Montreal, as well as in Germany and Mexico.
From 2020 onward, he has devoted himself fully to choreography and teaching. He also served as rehearsal director for the company Cas Public until 2023.
In collaboration with Vera Kvarkacova, he forms a choreographic duo recognized internationally.
Their creation DOMA has garnered significant acclaim. They also co-created Solo pour Trois for the Les Grands Ballets Canadiens gala. In 2024, Jérémy Galdeano created You look strange_You look happy for the Ishida Dance Company in Austin, and then Nebe for Les Grands Ballets Canadiens as part of the mixed-gender Soirée Cantata program (directed by Ivan Cavallari).
Since 2025, Jérémy Galdeano has been part of the teaching staff at the École de danse contemporaine de Montréal, under the direction of Lisa Davies, as a ballet professor. He is also a guest rehearsal director with Ballets Jazz Montréal, under the direction of Alexandra Damiani. That same year, he created Everything Is Pink to Me for the CDCQ, directed by Jérémy Raia, and co-choreographed Boléro with Vera Kvarkacova for the closing of the Leoš Janáček International Festival in Hukvaldy.
