Biography
Madeleine Salhany, born and raised in Ottawa, Canada, holds a Bachelor of Dance degree from the SUNY Purchase Dance Conservatory in New York City. During her time at SUNY Purchase, she had the pleasure of performing works by Sidra Bell, Ana Maria Lucaciu, Ohad Naharin, and Loni Landon. She then began her dance career as an apprentice with Ballets Jazz Montréal. She subsequently danced in Germany at the Stadttheater Gießen under the direction of Tarek Assam and worked with Ballett Theater Trier under the direction of Roberto Scafati. During these years, she performed works by Fernando Melo, Gustavo Remírez Sansano, Andonis Foniadakis, Mauro Astolfi, Georg Reischl, Itzik Galili, Liam Francis, and Vittoria Girelli, among others. She also participated in the NDT Summer Intensive and the Arts Umbrella International Summer Dance Intensive. She performs at several dance festivals and galas across Europe. Madeleine is thrilled to have rejoined Ballets Jazz Montréal as an artist!
