Born in Spain, with Spanish-Colombian roots, Marco Vargas has lived in Quebec since 2016.

At the age of 16, he began his career as a lighting technician. A few years later, Mr. Vargas earned a degree in sound engineering and, since 2009, has channeled his creative energy into technical production.

Over the past 20 years, Marco has learned and appreciated every step of the process of creating, producing, and executing projects of all kinds. During his time in Europe, he had the opportunity to work on operas, dance performances, classical and contemporary theatre productions, major electronic music festivals, and rock & roll tours.

Vargas joined Ballets Jazz Montréal in March 2022. He is a strong team player and believes in diversity, listening, and dialogue as key strengths within a group. He hopes to actively participate in cultivating the highest technical and artistic quality in the shows he brings to stages around the world.
