La Parenthèse - Christophe Garcia performed by Ballets Jazz Montréal
Enter NIEBO HOTEL. An immersive and ambulatory experience where dance is experienced up close, between hushed rooms, nocturnal stories and raw emotions.
From February 18 to March 1, 2025, Ballets Jazz Montréal and its partners Danse Danse and CAPAS invite the public to the Hotel Le Germain Montréal for the immersive contemporary dance experience NIEBO HOTEL . A recreation of the hit work by the French company La Parenthèse - Christophe Garcia, performed by Ballets Jazz Montréal, this promenade performance invites spectators to be both voyeuristic witnesses and accomplices in six grand stories of intimacy.
NIEBO HOTEL : Who are we in a night without limits?
These forbidden lovers who can no longer bear to be apart.
This young woman is finally experiencing the bliss of solitude.
This lonely man who rediscovers the joy of life after midnight…
The hushed rooms reveal those stolen moments when our most fragile dreams come to life. In small groups, the audience witnesses the secret dance of these transient creatures. Music, the magic of the place, and video complement the dance, paying homage to those fleeting moments when our dreams finally take shape. NIEBO HOTEL invites everyone to celebrate the fantasies and memories that unfold behind closed doors. In this hotel of the sky, this Niebo of the night, we are nothing but our melancholies.
A multifaceted experience
Thanks to personalized invitations and a staggered viewing order, each performance is unique. Spectators move from room to room as if turning the pages of a book. It's up to each viewer to create their own narrative thread by the end of this 75-minute experience, where the rooms of the Hôtel Germain Montréal become the stage for these vibrant scenes. The diverse talents and vulnerability of the dancers of Ballets Jazz Montréal can be observed up close, felt from just inches away, in a way that a theatrical experience simply cannot. Perhaps the brilliance of this performance lies in the fact that each experience is truly unique and creates a different poem for every person who comes to enjoy it.
Uniting people around an accessible and breathtaking dance
NIEBO HOTEL is a Quebec adaptation of the French work by choreographer Christophe Garcia. This reimagining is made possible thanks to the audacity and vision of Danse Danse – co-producer of the show – and the invaluable collaboration of Ballets Jazz Montréal, Le Germain Montréal, and La Parenthèse – Christophe Garcia, the work's presenting partners. CAPAS brings its partners together here to pursue its mission of producing works that democratize dance. NIEBO HOTEL builds bridges between the tourism industry and the art of choreography. This major and demanding project brings dance ever closer to audiences, allowing them to (re)discover the moving power of movement.
"As you move through the hotel's redesigned rooms, you'll discover that each one houses a captivating dance piece that brings to life stories of love, memory, and human connection."
Gen's Delights - Mountain Lake PBS
"For one hour, spectators follow a personalized path, becoming both witnesses and participants in this poetic exploration of memory and emotion."
