Andonis Foniadakis
Soul performs an intense and sensual dance to the song "Ball and Chain," in which Andonis Foniadakis explores passion, desire, and abandonment through exhilarating physical energy.
For his third collaboration with the company, Andonis Foniadakis presents a brand-new, profound, and sensual duet, reflecting the vibrations of the song "Ball and Chain ." Originally by Big Mama Thornton, "Ball and Chain" was popularized by Janis Joplin and is performed especially for this Ballets Jazz Montréal creation by the captivating and flamboyant Quebec artist Angel Forrest. The strength and exhilarating fluidity of the two artists highlight the meaning and impulses conveyed in this iconic song. This creation bears the distinctive mark of the choreographer and Ballets Jazz Montréal, characterized by pure energy and extraordinary physical power.
"Life is easy, kid! Step off the beaten path. Walk the tightrope. Don't look back. Exist. Passionately. Madly. Reach seventh heaven, without thinking about tomorrow. Never hesitate. Don't deprive yourself of anything. Live life to the fullest and die young. You're a legend."
- Andonis Foniadakis
"The duo gives their all in the fast and explosive movements: lots of lifts and contact between the two dancers. The result is phenomenal! You can't help but be captivated by their energy."
