INTRODUCING OUR NEW CREATION JOIE DE VIVRE!

Ballets Jazz Montréal is proud to officially announce its latest creation: Joie de vivre, choreographed and directed by Jo Strømgren. We are delighted to be able to give you a first glimpse of this work in progress.

A prolific choreographer, playwright, and director, Strømgren is renowned for his boundless creative universe and his ability to blend humor, poetry and depth. His collaboration with the company's talented performers gives birth to Joie de vivre, a work that, at its heart, is a celebration of life. The 60-minute piece pays homage to those who lived fully, before the age of constant documentation, celebrating the beauty of simplicity, memory, and the traces we leave behind. 

Joie de vivre is a co-production of the Festival des Arts de Saint-Sauveur (FASS) and will be premiering at the festival on August 3, 2025. We will also perform the piece on February 10, 2026 at the Grand Théâtre de Québec in Quebec City and from February 17-21, 2026 at Théâtre Maisonneuve in Place des Arts as part of Danse Danse's 2025-26 season.  We sincerely thank our valued partners—FASS, Danse Danse, and Grand Théâtre de Québec—for their continued support and long-standing collaboration. Their commitment plays a fundamental role in bringing our creative vision to life and in allowing us to push the boundaries of dance ever further.
